1. Our Commitment to Your Peace of Mind

At FlatpackCrew, we treat your home and your new furniture with the utmost care and respect. However, we understand that inviting tradespeople into your property requires trust. That is why we are fully insured, ensuring that in the highly unlikely event of an accident, you are completely protected.

Comprehensive Public Liability Cover

We hold a comprehensive Public Liability Insurance policy providing cover up to £2,000,000.

2. What Our Insurance Covers

Our insurance policy is designed to protect our customers and the general public. It provides coverage for:

  • Accidental Property Damage: Any accidental damage caused to your property by our fitters during the course of the assembly (for example, accidentally scraping a wall or damaging flooring while moving heavy flatpack boxes).
  • Accidental Item Damage: Any accidental damage caused directly to the furniture items while they are being built by our team.
  • Injury: Any accidental bodily injury to a third party (such as a customer) caused as a direct result of our assembly activities while on site.

3. What is Not Covered

While our policy is comprehensive, it is important to clarify the limitations of our liability. Our insurance does not cover the following:

  • Pre-existing Damage: Any damage to the property or the furniture that was present prior to our arrival. We always recommend inspecting your boxes for obvious courier damage before your appointment.
  • Manufacturing Defects: Issues arising from faulty manufacturing, such as misaligned pre-drilled holes, peeling veneer, or missing parts straight out of the box.
  • Customer Handling: Any damage caused if you decide to move, alter, or disassemble the furniture after we have completed the build and left the premises.
  • Hidden Utilities: Damage caused to hidden pipes or electrical cables during wall-mounting, where we were not reasonably informed of their location prior to drilling.
  • Uneven Flooring: Issues with doors not aligning perfectly due to severely uneven floors, particularly if you have declined our recommendation to properly level and wall-mount the unit.

4. Proof of Insurance

We believe in total transparency. Our fitters carry digital copies of our current insurance certificate and will be happy to present this to you upon arrival at your property.

If you require a copy of our insurance certificate for your records, landlord, or building management prior to the assembly date, please let us know when requesting your quote and we will happily email it over to you.
